Privacy Policy

How VideoCutout collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data and uploaded media.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how VideoCutout ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you visit videocutout.net, create an account, upload a video or background image, purchase credits or a subscription, or contact support.

By using VideoCutout, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect:

  • Account data: name, email address, authentication identifiers, account status, and security settings.
  • Uploaded and generated media: source videos, optional custom background images, processing metadata, and generated results.
  • Transaction data: product, price, currency, order status, subscription status, credit balance, and transaction identifiers. Creem processes payment credentials as our Merchant of Record. We do not store full payment-card numbers.
  • Support data: messages and information you send to support.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, pages visited, feature usage, error logs, and security events.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: essential cookies for authentication, security, locale, and preferences, plus analytics cookies or scripts when analytics are enabled.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • provide accounts, uploads, AI-assisted video editing, result delivery, and support;
  • calculate usage, consume or restore credits, and manage subscriptions;
  • process orders, refunds, chargebacks, tax, receipts, and fraud checks through Creem;
  • secure the service, enforce our Terms and Acceptable Use Policy, and prevent unlawful or abusive use;
  • diagnose failures and improve reliability and user experience;
  • comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.

4. Service Providers and Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share only what is reasonably necessary with providers that help operate VideoCutout, including:

  • Creem, which acts as Merchant of Record and processes checkout, payment, tax, receipts, refunds, and chargebacks;
  • Cloudflare, which provides hosting, security, traffic delivery, and private object storage;
  • AI processing providers, currently including WaveSpeed, which process source videos and optional custom background images to create the requested result;
  • authentication, email, monitoring, and analytics providers that are enabled for the service.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, to investigate fraud or abuse, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

5. Media Storage and Retention

Source and result media are stored privately and delivered using time-limited links.

  • Source videos are normally deleted within approximately 24 hours after a task reaches a final state.
  • Result retention depends on the plan displayed at purchase and is normally between 7 and 90 days.
  • Deleting a task requests early deletion of its stored source and result media.
  • Account, transaction, fraud-prevention, and support records may be retained longer where reasonably necessary for accounting, security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

Do not upload media that you are not authorized to provide to our processors.

6. International Processing

Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use contractual or other safeguards intended to protect transferred information.

7. Security

We use encrypted transport, access controls, private storage, time-limited download links, and operational safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may update account information in Settings, delete individual tasks from your workspace, or contact us to make a request.

You may disable non-essential cookies through your browser. Disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in or other core features.

9. Children

VideoCutout is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a change materially affects users.
