Product video workflow

Remove the Background from a Product Video

Use clear product separation and review reflections, transparent packaging, shadows, and fast rotations across the complete clip. This page keeps product claims aligned with the current workflow: MP4, MOV, and WebM input; transparent WebM output; and JPG, PNG, or WebP replacement images.

Three-stage workflow

From source file to usable foreground

Validate the source, isolate the subject, and export the format you actually need.

01

Upload a supported video

Choose an MP4, MOV, or WebM file with a clearly visible subject.

02

Choose the output

Keep the result transparent or upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image as the replacement background.

03

Process and review

Let AI isolate the foreground, then check difficult frames before downloading the result.

Search intent

Remove the Background from a Product Video

Isolate a product or presenter and place the foreground over a cleaner visual setting for listings, ads, and demos.

Use clear product separation and review reflections, transparent packaging, shadows, and fast rotations across the complete clip.

Capability boundary

Use the format and workflow the product actually supports

Transparent results are delivered as WebM. The current workflow does not claim transparent MP4 output, public API access, or professional chroma-key controls.

A custom background is a still JPG, PNG, or WebP image. Review moving edges across the entire clip before using the result in production.

What this page resolves

Match the workflow to the real job

Product footage needs a different review from a talking-head clip. Reflections, transparent packaging, thin handles, soft shadows, and a rotating object can all change how the foreground boundary should be judged.

Use the isolated subject to build a consistent catalog or campaign look, but keep natural contact shadows and scale in mind. A perfectly clean cutout can still look artificial if the new background lighting and perspective do not match.

Source preparation

Small input changes prevent avoidable edge problems

Use the highest-quality original available instead of a copy downloaded from a social platform. Keep the subject large enough to see, avoid aggressive compression, and prefer even lighting with visual separation between foreground and background.

Preview the beginning, middle, and end before upload. A clip that looks easy in its first frame may contain crossed hands, hair movement, camera cuts, fast rotation, or an object that briefly disappears behind another element.

  • Check reflections
  • Preserve contact shadows
  • Inspect thin product parts
  • Match the new scene lighting
Verified product limits

Inputs, outputs, credits, and plan limits

The live remover accepts MP4, MOV, and WebM. Transparent mode returns WebM; custom-background mode accepts one JPG, PNG, or WebP image up to 10 MB. A still image is composited behind the isolated foreground—the product does not currently accept a replacement video.

The free trial supports one verified clip up to 5 seconds and 50 MB. Paid plans raise the limit to 60, 180, or 300 seconds and 200 or 500 MB depending on tier. Processing credits are rounded up in five-second blocks, so a 6-second clip uses 10 credits.

  • MP4, MOV, or WebM input
  • Transparent WebM output
  • JPG, PNG, or WebP background
  • 5 credits per started 5-second block
Questions

Details worth checking before you export

What does Remove the Background from a Product Video cover?+

Use clear product separation and review reflections, transparent packaging, shadows, and fast rotations across the complete clip.

Is a green screen required?+

No. AI foreground segmentation is designed for ordinary footage, although clear lighting and subject separation improve the result.

Which output keeps transparency?+

Use transparent WebM. MP4 is not presented as an alpha-enabled output in this workflow.

How are video background removal credits calculated?+

Credits follow processed duration and round up to the next five-second block. A clip from 1–5 seconds uses 5 credits, 6–10 seconds uses 10 credits, and the same rule continues for longer clips.

What are the current upload limits?+

The verified free trial allows one clip up to 5 seconds and 50 MB. Depending on the paid tier, limits increase to 60, 180, or 300 seconds and 200 or 500 MB. Background images are limited to 10 MB.
